Working Notebook

I don’t know about anyone else, but I am one that loves my note book. Yes, I carry around a book of paper. I’m sure that you can accomplish the same kinds of things with various tech out there, but I’m in love with my pen and paper. But the idea behind my toting this notebook is so that I have a place to capture ideas. It is a place that I work from when I am building stories. I have always found this to be a great resource and very helpful when I am struggling to write.

I’ve decided to bring some of my Working Notebook things to this site. Why? First, because I have gotten out of the habit of using it. Which I miss. Second, because it might be helpful to those visiting here.

How is this going to work? I’ll occasionally post about a style of notebook entry and I’ll give that style a name. Then I will start making posts with that title under the “Working Notebook” category. I’m going to aim to write something for my Working Notebook once a week.

From there? Do with it what you like. These are things that I frequently use in the same manner as prompts, feel free to do the same. I might pull from them for prompts or exercises. I really have no set purpose for these entries beyond getting back into a practice that I enjoyed.

I hope you find the notebook as helpful as I do.
